What does your service provide?

KnowNow Live is an enterprise start page that is unique due to its extensive presentation flexibility, persistent content / source monitoring, and multi-channel alerting. It simplifies management of disparate sources of information, adds alerts to any content source, and adds collaborative functionality to every channel. KnowNow Live stands apart by its ability to:

Monitor any source and content type, inside or outside the corporate firewall
Receive live updates as new or changed content is available

What version of Dojo, and what components are you using?

Our first version is using Dojo 0.4.3, and right now KnowNow is porting the application to use Dojo 1.0. From the "Core", KnowNow is using mainly the i18n, event, dnd, lfx, html functions. From widgets (and soon Dijit) : LayoutContainer, ContentPane, FloatingPane, ResizeHandle, TreeV3, Slider, etc.

What made you choose Dojo?

Events, being able to do custom builds, and the dojo.require mechanism to load only when something is needed.

What was your favorite thing about working with Dojo?

Variety of widgets, possibility to extend them and write our own. The i18n module, and the templating of the widgets, that allow a clean and easy separation of html and js. The community that is active and alive (mailing list and IRC channel).

Do you have any other comments you would like to make?

Not at this time.
