Dojo 1.2 - a proper candidate.

Earlier this month, we released beta1 of the much anticipated Dojo Toolkit 1.2 ... We released 1.1 in March of this year and the critical-fix branch 1.1.1 in May, making the 1.2 release the longest interval between releases to date. The wait was/is worth it, the visual polish in Dijit layout alone will please most users.

Oh, but it isn't truly released yet - one more round of testing to go! Today, we cut the first candidate for Dojo 1.2:

We need you!

Everyone with running applications, we encourage you to download and drop in this new version to assist with regression testing, bug testing, and performance testing. Please report any issues encountered. Skim the 1.2 release notes pointing out any omissions or inaccuracies.

Everyone just playing around with Dojo - drop it in too! This new version of Dojo is the most compact, concise, polished, and stable Dojo release yet. This version will not be on the various CDN's until after a final cut, but now that we're in release-candidate mode, nothing new is changing (provided we hit all the show-stoppers during our beta testing period) and this will likely become the "official" version as-is.

Thanks again to everyone involved in the months and months of hard work of bug finding, reporting, fixing, and enhancing. This is truly a huge team effort, and the developers (like you?) contributing back to Dojo make all the difference. We couldn't have done it without you.

Happy Dojo'ing --

Peter Higgins
