Google is again running the Summer of Code programme in 2008, and Dojo is gearing up to participate. Over the past three years, Google has spent millions of dollars to pay over 1500 talented individuals to work on open source software projects. At Dojo we have some big goals for this year, and right now we're starting to look for students, mentors, and project ideas.
- General info on the Dojo SoC
- Project ideas list - feel free to add your own or comment on those listed.
Students
If you're eligible and are interested in being paid to work on Dojo over the summer, find an idea and get in touch about it. If you're a parent or know some good students, encourage them to apply. There are lots of exciting projects listed already and we'll be adding more over the next few weeks. Applications are due to Google in the last week of March.
Mentors
This year we're keen to involve more of our community as mentors. Each student will have 2 mentors to help support the project, and we'd love it if only one is an existing Dojo committer.
So, if you:
- know some part of Dojo well,
- have ~5h to spare each week between 26 May and 18 August,
- are interested in any of the ideas or have your own,
- and want to get more involved in Dojo development:
- Get in touch with Me! This is a perfect opportunity.
Your friendly SoCcer,
